CASTING and PRODUCTION CALL:

LA DAME AUX CAMELIAS

For a production in April (12-30) at the Arclight Theatre in New York
We are seeking the following:
Actors: Fluency in French a MUST! (see breakdowns below)
Director: Must read and understand French (with experience in the classics)
Assistant director: Must read and understand French
Production Assistant(s): French speaking preferred but not a must
Set designer: French speaking preferred but not a must
Costume Designer: French speaking preferred but not a must
Interns: For production work and assistance in various areas

WILL ONLY SEE ACTORS WHO ARE FLUENT IN FRENCH as the play is performed in French and it is a classic therefore excellent command of the French language is a MUST! PLEASE DO NOT SUBMIT FOR ROLES UNLESS FLUENT IN FRENCH!!!
Interview Date(s): Thursday February 11, 2010 - Start Date: March 1st, 2010

Armand (M 25-35):
Handsome, with depth. Passionate, spontaneous physical presence. Although quite masculine, is also vulnerable and
easily bruised. HE MUST BE CAPABLE OF PLAYING A WIDE RANGE OF EMOTIONS. Must move well on stage.

Charles (M 30-35):
Has authority, force, elegance. More refined than Armand, reasoning, calm, hard to grasp, curious, inspires
confidence. He is the observer/narrator of this strategy. Must have great presence.

Armand's Father (M 50-75):
Older and still a handsome
